when solid is heated, the particles gain kinetic energy and vibrate
more vigorously n further apart. therefore the solid expands.
when sufficient energy is gained, the strong forces of attraction
is partly overcome and the solid becomes a liquid.
on further heating, the forces of attrction between the particles is overcome,
and the particles therefore break away from the liquid surface to the air.
this process is boiling.
when the temperature of the gas is lowered,
the gas particles loses energy and and moves more slowly.
they become more closely together, and when the forces of attraction becomes
important, the particles aggregrate to form a liquid.
As more heat is removed, the particles come closer together
until tthe strong forces of attrction causes the particles to vibrate about
their fixed position. It now becomes a solid.
